- Open the disc tray
- Press MENU
- Press 1, 6, 7 (or 7, 6, 0 )
- Enter RC or press MUTE for Codefree
- Close the disc tray

- Turn on the player (without a disc inserted)
- Press MENU
- Press 1, 6, 7, 1, 9
- A menu should pop up
- Press OK
- Press the button for the desired RC (0=codefree)
- Exit menu
